The IPL salary arbitration hearings will be held today.
For a few fleeting hours, general managers, players, and their mouthpieces will conduct a risky game of verbal tug-of-war.
Players, used to settling their scores on the field, could make millions, or find their paychecks slashed summarily. When the decisions are announced tomorrow, general managers will have a much better grasp of their budget in the upcoming free agent market.
One thing is for certain--when the results go public tomorrow, someone in CPL won't be happy. |

The National League has made it official -- Tony Rodriguez is the winner of the Silver Slugger.
In the 2017 season, the New York (N) shortstop stood out with a .339 batting average, 41 doubles, 2 triples, 40 home runs and 121 RBIs. Rodriguez also had 91 walks, posted a .430 on-base percentage and scored 100 times.
This weekend the SION Baseball Writers Association will present the trophy to Rodriguez for being the NL's top-rated batter. He will receive it at the association's annual awards dinner. |
 | Sunday, October 29th, 2017: Great Year Gets Lira AL Silver Slugger
It was a season to remember for Darrell Lira. He was one of the most dangerous men in league when he had a bat in his hand and the American League announced today that he had won the Silver Slugger for the year 2017.
The Cleveland right fielder shellshocked opposing moundsmen with a .330 batting average, 34 doubles, 3 triples, 16 home runs and 89 RBIs while compiling a .406 on-base percentage and scoring 111 runs.
The annual SBWA awards banquet is this weekend. All of the major award winners will be there to be honored for their outstanding achievements this past season. |
