 | Friday, September 1st, 2017: Traxler Hurt, Out for 7 Weeks Thomas Traxler at first refused to leave today's New York (N)-Brooklyn game after he suffered a strained medial collateral ligament while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I'm a competitor," the feisty Brooklyn shortstop said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Traxler out of action for 7 weeks. This season Traxler is batting at a .349 clip with 10 home runs and 45 RBIs. |
