Thursday, September 21st, 2017: Tew Holds Brooklyn Scoreless
The St. Louis manager told reporters after the game, "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy. The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."

He was talking about Fred Tew, who had just hurled a fine 5-hit shutout over the Brooklyn Dodgers. He had 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the St. Louis 5-0 victory.

"An outstanding job," the Brooklyn manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."

This season Tew has fanned 147 in 210 innings and collected a 12-12 record with a 2.96 ERA.
Monday, September 11th, 2017: Brooklyn's Gregory Gets NL Player of the Week
Mike Gregory more than did his part for the Brooklyn Dodgers over the last seven days and earned National League Player of the Week honors in the process.

The club's center fielder logged an impressive .650 average, drove in 5 runs, hit 1 home run and scored 5 times.

In his stats this season, Gregory has posted a batting average of .248 with 133 hits in 536 at-bats, 11 home runs and 58 RBIs. He has also scored 70 runs, walked 31 times and compiled a .286 OBP.
Sunday, September 10th, 2017: Giants Get Shutout Win Over Brooklyn
He didn't put a spell on them. It wasn't black magic, it was just old-fashioned good pitching. That's how Michael Keith of the New York (N) Giants blanked the Brooklyn Dodgers 6-0.

After tossing a complete game 3-hit shutout, he was all smiles, saying, "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game. I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance."

His own skipper said, "He's at his best when he gets ahead of the hitters." Keith walked 1 and struck out 7 in the victory.

The Dodgers manager commented on their lack of success against him, saying, "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes."

This season Keith has worked 156.2 innings with 106 strikeouts en route to a 13-6 record and a 2.99 ERA.
