Friday, September 29th, 2017: Cincinnati's Crumpton Takes Home NL Batting Honors
Paul Crumpton of the Cincinnati Reds capped a fine season by winning the National League batting crown.
He outpaced all others with his .356 average.

For the season, the Reds shortstop played in 151 games, collected 209 hits, 25 home runs, scored 117 times and knocked in 113 runs.

Crumpton regarded himself as "lucky" to avoid any lengthy slumps. "The hits kept coming," he said, "all year long."
Saturday, September 23rd, 2017: Carmouche Career Ended by Injury
The Cincinnati Reds were jolted by some terrible news -- William Carmouche's baseball career was pronounced over -- the result of a ruptured disc.

The club's GM told SION reporters, "We were all stunned by the news. Injuries are a part of the game, but you never get used to this kind of devastating news."

Carmouche has gone to the hill for 26 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 0-0 record with a 1.57 ERA. The Cincinnati reliever has limited opposing batters to a .221 batting average.
Saturday, September 23rd, 2017: John Blouin Injured, Out of Lineup
A blow for John Blouin today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss one week with a bruised ankle. Blouin suffered the injury running the bases. Although officials from the Cincinnati Reds are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Blouin's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.

Blouin is hitting at a .308 mark this season. His stats show 26 home runs, 100 RBIs and 129 runs scored. He has played 139 games for the Reds.
