Friday, October 27th, 2017: NL's Top Rookie Proclaimed
This season his lightning swing and solid bat helped the sensational newcomer, Jose Granados of the St. Louis Cardinals, capture the Rookie of the Year in the National League.

The talented right fielder sparked his team by hitting .297 with 15 home runs, 89 RBIs and 66 runs scored.

He will get his trophy at the SBWA awards banquet this weekend.
Thursday, September 21st, 2017: Tew Holds Brooklyn Scoreless
The St. Louis manager told reporters after the game, "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy. The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."

He was talking about Fred Tew, who had just hurled a fine 5-hit shutout over the Brooklyn Dodgers. He had 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the St. Louis 5-0 victory.

"An outstanding job," the Brooklyn manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."

This season Tew has fanned 147 in 210 innings and collected a 12-12 record with a 2.96 ERA.
Monday, September 18th, 2017: NL Star of the Week Honored

Today the St. Louis first baseman received the NL Player of the Week Award.

Gullion currently has a .280 batting average with 155 hits, 27 homers, 84 RBIs, 84 runs scored and a .339 OBP.
