Friday, August 11th, 2017: Aviles Whitewashes Greyhounds
Alberto Aviles put a hex on Elkins in a sparkling 7-0 shutout performance, mesmerizing them on a 1-hit gem.

"I feel good physically," he said. "Everything's comfortable. You should pitch well when that's the case."

It was anything but comfortable for Elkins.

"Aviles used his changeup very well, very effectively," the opposing manager said. "He threw it in hitter's counts."

The Sheldon Stellars hurler fanned 6 and walked 2.

His record this year is 4-4 in 9 starts and Aviles has a 2.00 ERA.
Saturday, August 5th, 2017: McDaniel Spins Shutout
In an impressive outing, William McDaniel whitewashed the Elkins Greyhounds 1-0.

"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said McDaniel, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.

"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."

The Scottsdale hurler held Elkins scoreless, allowed 4 hits, chalked up 5 strikeouts and yielded 2 walks.

McDaniel has a 10-10 season record so far. In 24 starts, he has fanned 87 batters in 181.1 innings with a 2.63 ERA.
