| Breaking News | | Sunday, September 17th, 2017: SL1's Top Pitcher is Hood
Bill Hood finished off a fine season by copping the Sub League 1 Outstanding Pitcher Award today.
The Montgomery hurler went 8-2 on the year, posting a 1.92 ERA. Hood also tallied 38 strikeouts in 103.1 innings and allowing opposing batters to hit only .228 against him.
All of the league award winners will be acknowledged this weekend at the SBWA annual dinner.

| Monday, August 21st, 2017: Brockman SL1's Best of the Week
The Sub League 1 presented its most recent Player of the Week Award to Montgomery Partridges first baseman Jack Brockman.
"His numbers speak for themselves," a club publicist said. "He's been really seeing the ball well."
Indeed, Brockman has. Last week he went 11 for 24, batted .458 with 1 home run and 2 RBIs.
Brockman is batting at a .223 pace in 2017, picking up 48 hits in 215 at-bats with 2 home runs, 30 RBIs and 28 runs scored.

| Saturday, August 5th, 2017: Hood Hot, Rockers Cold
"I hope we miss him next time," the Arlington manager said. "Hood certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
The Montgomery starter tamed the Arlington Rockers 2-0 with a 6-hit shutout, finishing the game with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in a sharp outing.
"I enjoy facing a team like that where I can get an out on one, two or three pitches," Hood said. "It gives me a chance to be a lot more aggressive."
This year Hood has compiled a 6-1 record with a 1.98 ERA.
