Monday, September 18th, 2017: Lewis Carlucci Out for 4 Weeks
The Boston (N) Braves were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that Lewis Carlucci was likely to be out for 4 weeks after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a strained back muscle. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Boston (N) manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Lewis is back in action."

To date, Carlucci has collected no saves in 5 relief appearances. He has rung up 11 strikeouts and 6 walks in 25 innings while registering a 3.60 ERA and a 1-1 won-lost record.

Wednesday, September 13th, 2017: Stinson Cracks 5 Hits
Richard Stinson exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Baker Bowl. The Philadelphia (N) left fielder had a field day in the 10-1 triumph over the Boston (N) Braves, finishing up with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book.

"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Well, Stinson must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.

R. Stinson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

Stinson has collected 48 hits for the Phillies this year, 5 of them home runs. He has also netted 32 RBIs and scored 20 runs while batting .244.

Wednesday, August 9th, 2017: Boston (N) Reliever Will Miss 1-2 Weeks
The Boston (N) Braves will have to make do without Donald Hunter for 1-2 weeks. He suffered a finger blister while throwing the ball in the game today against the Cincinnati Reds. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the reliever. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Hunter will miss 1-2 weeks.

This season Hunter has accumulated no saves, registered a 5.62 ERA and struck out 45 in 57.2 innings. He also has a 2-2 record in 41 relief appearances.
